Some things in life are simply too pleasurable not to indulge in every so often; coffee, chocolate and perhaps the two together – perfectly prepared at Patrice Patissier.
One of Quebec’s most renowned pastry chefs, Patrice Demers recently opened a modern space in the heart of little burgundy, for those who love the finer things in life. The concept goes a little something like this: pastry shop / restaurant / pastry classes – located at 2360 Rue Notre Dame W.
If you’re not already familiar with Mr. Demers’ path of delight, he has worked at some of Montreal’s top locales; including Lemeac, Chez L’Epicier and Les 400 Coups. He is also host of “Desserts de Patrice” on the “Vie” channel. And so naturally, Patrice Patissier was conceived as a place to share and teach. The desserts are made with fresh, seasonal and local ingredients used to prepare the desserts daily. Some of the “Coup de Coeurs” that must absolutely be tried are the ‘Chou à la creme’ stuffed with banana compote, chocolate and caramel foam and the chocolate & coffee St Henri cake. If you can’t enjoy them in their beautiful restaurant (where lunch is also served from Tuesdays through Fridays), then you can leave with your desserts in the prettiest purse-like container, for your most treasured delicacies. But it doesn’t end there. Every Thursday to Saturday evening, the space lends itself as a wine bar where dishes, cocktails and of course, desserts can be enjoyed in a beautiful ambiance. And if you feel so inspired, you can also sign up for pastry classes by Patrice himself – making life in little Burgundy, that much sweeter.
