There are places that pulls us in by its mere presence – and more often than not, we are thrilled it did. This was definitely the case upon discovering CODE AMBIANCE; somewhere between Little Burgundy, Griffintown and culinary heaven. The restaurant boasts fine contemporary French cuisine, inspired by the passionate owner and chef, Mr. Bastien Gerard.
CITYGUIDE (Diana Eskander) was fortunate enough to have a taste of the Code Ambiance delights. The first course arrived; gravlax made to perfection alongside, a tasty arugula salad and celery roots, traditionally dressed in mayonnaise and mustard. The risotto balls came next…oh we’ll take another round of those please! Lightly breaded in Japanese Panko crumbs with red beets, just perfect. Finally, the scrumptious North Quebec crab cake, with a twist of citrus – amazing! And since there is always room for dessert, the meal was completed with a little piece of heaven; mango and passion fruit coulis, passion fruit sorbet, luscious white chocolate zephyr mousse over a biscuit and topped with chocolate shavings.
The décor is just the right balance of the past, present and future; and with its delectable cuisine and import wines, CODE AMBIANCE makes for the ideal setting to enjoy good company and great gastronomy.
