Miami has recently made its mark on the map of fashion and design; with proof of this being, the newly dubbed and created “Miami Design District” – bringing together the best in fashion, art, design architecture and dining. Luxury essentials, such as Cartier, Céline, Maison Martin Margiela and so very many more, are made accessible to Miami’s finest. And located in between two powerhouses, Dior Homme and Hermes, can be found the newest (and coolest) concept in menswear boutiques, APT606.
The aim of Creative Director and Curator, Dune Ivan, is to bring the luxury street- shopping element that is only accessible in the world’s top fashion cities; with hard- to-find in Miami designers, such as Alexander Wang, Christopher Kane, Raf Simons Helmut Lang and Damir Doma (among the many heavy-weight labels carried). Included in the concept are luxury skin care and grooming products, from M.E. Skin Lab Paris, Diptyque, Baxter of California, Kyoku, Morihata, RetaW, Sachajuan and Stop the Water While Using Me.
An expansion of the original brainchild, they are now located at 161 NE 40th Street. The space is clean, contemporary and ultra cool, with black walls and floors spanning the 1600 sq. foot location. The experience is an entirely sensory one, with the scent of Diptyque Baie candles burning, the sound of James Blake playing and the sight of the best menswear designs, seemingly floating on the backdrop of a minimal décor. This season, the boutique’s collections shines a spotlight on bold prints and signature cuts, in anticipation for a drastic shift in next season’s collection, which will highlight classic and confident pieces.
With a mission to add diversity and bring about change to the Miami shopping terrene, APT606 empowers men to develop a sense of style, unique to one’s own character, by offering an array of fashion-forward collections. To make this experience attainable to those outside of their sunshine city, they are launching their e-commerce site (www.apt606.com) this summer, transcending barriers and solidifying an original men’s fashion culture.
